Maxine Danzel Magee Ward was born April 3, 1913 in Ruskin, Nebraska; daughter of Jonce and Grace Magee. She was the oldest of six children. Maxine is survived
by her youngest sister, Marilyn. She was preceded in death by her first
husband, Jay Selby in 1962 and her second husband, Homer Ward in 2003.

room with her daughter-in-law, Judy. She leaves four children: Carole Jones,
Janiece Wright, Jerry Selby and Fred Selby; 11 grandchildren, 17 great
grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
Jay and Maxine lived and raised their family in Englewood and Littleton, Colorado. Five years after the death of Jay, she married long-time family friend, Homer Ward. After Homer's retirement, Homer and Maxine spent 3 years at Mountain States Children's Home in Longmont as superintendents. They returned to Englewood and approximately 10 years later, went back once again to serve as superintendents.
Up until she was well into her 90's her greatest joy was working in her garden. She cared for all of her neighbors in a special way, even to the point of rushing one to the hospital in the night and on occasion spending the night with her. Maxine went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday morning, November 20, 2012, with her children at her side. Her children are very grateful for the wonderful care and compassion shown to her at the nursing home.
A memorial service was held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at University Church of Christ Church, in Denver, CO. A private burial was held at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery in Centennial, CO.
