Hilda Zandstra Ward
born: February 5, 1912

​I received an email in 2016 from George Kamstra who is a 4th cousin to Hilda Zandstra Ward (they have the same great, great grandparents). Here is what he had to say:

Dear Russ,
In my retirement, I have been researching my Dutch family tree. I was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. My mother was English. I only knew my British side of the family. Initially, my research is focused on the Kooistra/Kamstra branches of my Dutch grandparents that had immigrated to North America. ​

​Both family lines yielded branches in North America. The Kamstra family side had members immigrate to the USA and Michigan in the early 1890's and as the 20th century arrived, others followed to many locations in the US and Canada. My study has evolved to more than 3500 names and as it expanded the "burning" question was always --- who had the original idea to move to North America and why? 
 
I was researching the Kamstra side when I came across your extensive Ward family tree site. I thought that you or members of your extended family might have some interest in your Dutch roots, so I have attached a pdf of Hilda's direct ancestors. 
 
If you or your family members want more information, feel free to contact me. I would be happy to share my info and research techniques with them.
